Indiana Teacher Standards
The Indiana Professional
Standards Board initiated the process to adopt
performance-based standards
for the preparation of Indiana educators in
1994. The first standards were adopted in
1998 and
additional standards have been added since
that date.
The
preface, which is the first section of
each standard, contains information about
the historical background regarding the development
of the standards.
